1.0 Big Update!
Texts have been revised, the interface improved in many places, and bugs fixed.
A huge thank you to everyone who submitted tickets! ❤️
🌱 New for all plants:
From now on, every plant has two new properties:
- Germination temperature
- Germination time
📅 Sowing calendar: more info at a glance
The sowing calendar has been expanded – you now get a lot more information, for:
- plants from your planting plans
- plants from “My Plants”
- all annual plants in the GrowSimply database
🧭 Navigation & interface:
Navigation has been improved so you can find what you’re looking for faster.
💚 Recommendations & appreciation
If you want to support GrowSimply beyond your subscription, you can now do that too:
Under the info button “Recommendations & appreciation” you’ll find a few options.
(Product recommendations will follow in the next few weeks.)
🍲 Recipes: completely revamped
The “Recipes” section is now much more inviting and easier to use:
- Recipes can be created in just 5 steps
- In the background, Sellerina helps correct spelling & grammar
- Afterwards, they are released for all garden friends
- You can edit them, download them as a PDF, and much more
- Bonus: If you don’t have a Lifetime plan and one of your recipes gets published, you’ll receive 6 days of runtime as a gift 🎁
Feel free to try it out 😊
🥕 Planting plans:
- The efficiency of the automatic planners (algorithms) has been improved, especially for plants with 0–2 years of resting time – they are now scheduled more efficiently.
- The area-usage calculator now also takes overwintering plants into account (they are included correctly).
- Planting plans now have two display options: monthly view and yearly view (including PDF download)
✏️ Edit planting plans
With this update, you can edit existing planting plans and adjust them to your current needs – of course also for newly created plans.
Currently it works like this:
- Self-created plans: full freedom – just like when creating.
- GrowSimply plans: when adding new/different plants, you’ll only see plants that fit the crop rotation.
- Mixed-culture plans: when adding, you’ll only see plants that fit the crop rotation and are not bad companions to plants already in the plan. Good companions are prioritized; otherwise neutral ones are shown.
Please give me feedback! 😊
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Note on editing existing plans from 2025
With existing planting plans there is a legacy bug that only becomes visible with the new
edit feature:
This can be fixed once with the workaround.
In the past, in rare cases internal entries could be saved twice or incompletely.
Unfortunately you only notice this once you delete or add a plant in edit mode –
then editing may fail or behave “strangely”.
✏️ Newly created planting plans are not affected (the cause has been fixed).
✏️ Your existing data/plans remain usable – only the edit feature is affected.
✅ Workaround (one-time per affected plan)
1) Open your planting plan → “View plan”
2) Download the yearly view as a PDF at the top (so your planning is saved)
3) Back → burger menu on the planting plan → “Delete”
4) Create a new planting plan using the same planner as back then (e.g., GrowSimply / Mixed-culture planner / Permabed / “plan yourself”).
This gives the new plan a clean base. 1–2 plants are enough – we just need a clean technical base.
5) Open the new plan → “Edit” → Delete the plants again
6) Add the plants from your PDF again exactly the same
7) Save ✅
Thanks for your understanding! 💚
🤖 Who is Sellerina, actually?
Sellerina is a new concept I’m pursuing: an AI-assisted helper that will take over some tasks in the future.
Currently, Sellerina “only” helps with recipes by checking spelling and grammar. No data is shared – it’s only text correction.
🔜 Outlook: large areas & round areas
That’s coming in the next few weeks. 😊
And as always: If you notice anything we can improve – you know how to reach me. 😊
Do you like this update?
I want to keep growing this project long-term – and it helps enormously if GrowSimply gets more visibility.
If you’d like to help, feel free to tell your favorite community about it. It might help more than you think. ❤️️
I wish you a wonderful and fruitful gardening year 2026 🌿 and happy holidays 🎉.
Thank you for using GrowSimply!
