The most important thing first:

Create your own vegetable plan: how it works, step by step

Why is sustainable crop planning so important?

Without sustainable growing methods, microorganisms die off, soil fatigue occurs, there is an increased risk of disease and pests, and yields decline. Soils in this condition require a lot of work to restore; in agriculture, pesticides, herbicides and mineral fertilizers are then often used.

To develop and maintain healthy, high-yield growing areas, careful and well-thought-out vegetable growing planning is necessary.

Create your own growing plan.
This is how it works!

Here you’ll learn step by step how to create a sustainable vegetable growing plan yourself and why GrowSimply is a real helper for you.

Create your own vegetable growing plan. Start planning.

Common mistakes in your first growing plan

Too few sub-areas. Crop rotation only works with at least three separate sub-areas. Rule of thumb: sub-areas needed = planting break + 1. With only one or two beds you can't keep the breaks without splitting your growing areas into sub-areas.
Ignoring planting breaks. If the same plant family returns to the same spot too soon, soil fatigue and disease push the yield down — depending on the family, three to five years of break are needed. Once diseases are in the soil, they stay for up to 20 years.
Planning everything at once. The eight steps build on each other. Tackling step 5 (crop rotation) without your plant list from step 3 means doing the work twice.
Making the plan only once. A growing plan is not a poster for the wall — it moves on every year. Without the annual rotation, the effort was wasted.

Great!

Now you have a good overview. Shall we take a closer look at the first topic?
