Help - crop planning
Your path to the growing plan:
- 1. Growing areas: Create your growing areas.
- 2. Plants: Select and customize your plants.
- 3. Crop planning: Let it plan or plan yourself?
Goal:
The goal is to create a sustainable growing plan for all the years to come that is tailored to you and the needs of everyone involved.
Why is that important?
Without sustainable growing methods, microorganisms die off, soil fatigue occurs, there is an increased risk of disease and pests, and yields decline. Soils in this condition require a lot of work to restore; in agriculture, pesticides, herbicides and mineral fertilizers are then often used.
To develop and maintain healthy, high-yield growing areas, careful and well-thought-out vegetable growing planning is necessary.
How it works:
-
1) Choose a planner:
Currently, you can choose between three planners that create your growing plan automatically. Terms like crop rotation, good companion plants, and permaculture come up. If you’re still unsure which planner is right for you, I recommend reading the guide “How it works”. Here you’ll learn everything important. You already have a lot of experience and want to create the growing plan according to your own ideas? There is also the option to create the growing plan yourself.
You’re starting with GrowSimply in the middle of your growing season?
Great to have you here. You have 2 options: 1. Start with a new plan. You can begin a new growing plan step by step. Create your growing plan. Keep an eye on your to-dos and only do tasks once one fits your rhythm in terms of time and growth.
A new growing plan often means the previous crop rotation cannot be followed. But you can rest easy here: for healthy soil, the change is not a problem. Only with repeated violations of crop rotation do you need to expect restrictions. 2. Transfer your growing plan. Transfer your growing plan using the manual planner. In this case, GrowSimply of course takes over the management and creates the right to-dos for you. However, we only recommend this function if you are sure that your growing plan is correct.
-
2) Choose a growing area or group:
Please note that only plannable growing areas or groups with 3 to 6 sub-areas are shown here.
-
3) Select the plants you want to grow here:
If you use one of the automated planners, your planner will try to take your selection of plants into account as well. Sometimes, however, a plant is not included in the finished growing plan. This is because the plant does not fit the crop rotation or is a poor companion plant for other plants. If you definitely want a plant that was not planned to be planned, you can increase the priority by clicking the star. As a rule, this means that other plants that do not fit the crop rotation or companion planting will not be planned. Then plan these plants in another growing area/group.
Keep this in mind too, and you'll have healthy, productive growing areas for all the years to come.
